Why do you believe innovations in participatory democracy are important?

Innovations in everything we do are important to making sure we’re not stagnating or resting on our laurels. In participatory democracy, there are many innovations being made, but much more that can be innovated to improve the way people engage with and participate in their democracy, particularly with the growth of technology, which offers opportunities as challenges, as well as with our current political atmosphere.

What do you hope to see at the 2018 Innovations in Participatory Democracy Conference?

I am looking forward to engaging with like-minded folks interested in exploring how we can work together and support one another in innovating and expanding participatory democracy practices. I look forward to hearing stories of how others are innovating and succeeding, and exploring what we might do next.
