Why do you believe innovations in participatory democracy are important?
We defend the existence of participative democracy not only as a tool, but also as a continuous objective we pretend to conquer daily.
What do you hope to see at the 2018 Innovations in Participatory Democracy Conference?
Imagine scenarios that may become materialized in the future, and, together with everyone, think of solutions for the development of a more active, participative, solidary, inclusive and fairer democracy.
I would also like to share with you our example, of Valongo, the city of which I am proudly the President, sharing a bit of the work we have been developing in this field, as well as work related to the National Network of Participatory Municipalities, of which we are members and have assumed Vice-Presidency.
We believe that enough conditions have been attained for us to be more ambitious in our objectives, as the panel of speakers, along with an excellent organization team, are the perfect ingredients for a profitable, interesting, dynamic and very participatory conference.
